Shubman Gill Fined ₹12 Lakh: GT’s First Over Rate Offence in IPL 2024

Shubman Gill, the captain of the Gujarat Titans, was fined ₹12 lakh after it was determined that his team had maintained a slower pace during Tuesday’s IPL 2024 match at Chennai’s Chidambaram Stadium against the Chennai Super Kings. In the tournament’s seventeenth iteration, this was a side’s first offense connected to overrate. Rashid Khan, the leg-spinner from Afghanistan who was playing for Gujarat, stopped Ravindra from reaching his fifty runs. Meanwhile, Gaikwad was caught behind by Australia’s Spencer Johnson. Before falling to Rashid in the 19th over, who got two wickets but gave up 49 runs, Dube hit his fifty in 22 balls.
