Teen Driver’s Blood Sample Discarded in Pune Porsche Crash: Police Arrest Two Doctors

On Monday, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar asserted that blood samples from a teenage driver who is facing charges in connection with a Porsche accident in Pune had been taken by medical professionals at Sassoon General Hospital. These samples were then exchanged for those of an individual who had not had alcohol before being disposed of in a trash can.

Amitesh Kumar added that Dr. Shrihari Harnor, the chief medical officer at Sassoon Hospital in Pune, and Dr. Ajay Taware, the director of the forensics department, had been arrested for allegedly falsifying blood results and tampering with the evidence in the Porsche crash case.

“On May 19, at approximately 11 a.m., a blood sample obtained from Sassoon Hospital in Pune was disposed of in the hospital’s trash can, and a different individual’s blood sample was obtained and forwarded to the forensic laboratory. This blood sample was substituted by CMO Srihari Harnor. Amitesh Kumar stated at a news conference that “we discovered during the investigation that Srihari Harnor replaced this on the orders of the HOD forensic medicine department of Sassoon, Ajay Tawre.”

The crime branch is presently looking into the case.

Early on May 19, two IT experts perished when a Porsche driven by a minor struck their motorcycle as it was traveling at a high speed. Supreme Court Issues Notice to NTA and Centre Over NEET Row: ‘If There Is 0.001% Negligence…

The National Testing Agency (NTA) and the federal government received a notice from the Supreme Court on Tuesday in response to a plea alleging anomalies and fraudulent acts in the administration of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024.

According to the highest court, even the smallest amount of negligence—0.001%—should be taken very seriously and handled appropriately. In order to guarantee that only worthy students are admitted to medical schools, the plea contends that a reexamination is essential. On July 8, there will be another hearing on the topic.

The Supreme Court stated, “We cannot overlook their hard work,” highlighting the effort pupils put in to study for the tests. Regarding the possible repercussions of tainted examination procedures, it conveyed serious concern. Consider the consequences, the SC warned, if physicians receive training in dubious conditions. It was recommended that the Center and NTA take a proactive approach to petitions that contest the testing process, offering openness and prompt correction of errors.

Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan had already threatened to take tough action against NTA officials should they be shown to be involved in irregularities. On Sunday, Pradhan visited Sambalpur in Odisha and delivered this declaration. According to him, there are now two different kinds of abnormalities in the way NEET is being conducted. According to early reports, some students received grace marks since they felt that they were given less time than the required amount, he added.

The education minister stated that in accordance with the Supreme Court’s ruling, the administration has rejected the grace marks and ordered that 1,563 pupils take their exams again. “Two other places have also revealed more transgressions. I can tell parents and pupils that the government is really concerned about this. We’ll pursue it to its natural conclusion,” he declared.

According to him, severe measures will be taken against any officials, especially senior NTA employees, who are found guilty. They will not be spared. The minister of union education also pushed for NTA reforms. “Despite being an independent organization, NTA needs a lot of improvements to operate effectively. This is a matter for the government. He continued, “I want to tell you that no offender will be spared and that rigorous action will be taken against them.

Kanchanjunga Express Accident: Passengers Feel Lucky to Be Alive Upon Reaching Kolkata

At roughly 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, the Kanchanjunga Express, which was struck by a cargo train close to New Jalpaiguri in north Bengal, killing nine people, arrived in Sealdah, Kolkata. A female traveler described her trip as a nightmare in her narrative. “I am here to talk to you today because of God’s mercy.” I am unable to adequately describe our experiences. I slipped off the highest tier due to a strong jerk. She described it to the media as a nightmare.

“I have to go to work in north Bengal quite a bit via train. However, I’m terrified now. One of the B2 coach passengers commented, “I feel like I have a new lease on life.” Around Rangapani, about 10 km south of New Jalpaiguri (NJP), at 8:55 a.m. on Monday, a goods train crashed into the back end of the Kanchanjunga Express, which was headed towards Sealdah. Five coaches of the goods train were derailed, while four coaches of the Kanchanjunga Express—a general compartment, two package coaches, and the guard van—were damaged.

Around midday on Monday, the Kanchanjunga Express, carrying 1,293 people, started up its trip towards Kolkata with its 19 unaffected coaches. Railway officials have stated that in addition to cleaning the down line, service has already resumed on the up line. The Northeast Frontier Railway’s (NFR) chief public relations officer, Sabyasachi De, stated, “The down line was cleared at around 7:30am on Tuesday, while the upline was cleared by around 5:40pm on Tuesday and the first goods train passed around 8pm.”

Coaches at the accident scene remained scattered across the tracks, forcing many trains, including the Rajdhani Express and Vande Bharat Express, to be rerouted through Bagdogra and Aluabari on Monday. Hospital officials stated they are determining the precise number of deaths in the train accident at New Jalpaiguri in north Bengal, but the death toll remained at nine.

Three bodies could not be identified, but six were identified and have already been given to the family members. As of Monday night, nine people had passed away. One of the bodies had one leg severed and the other missing. “We are uncertain if the leg is the same person’s or someone else’s,” a top physician from North Bengal Medical College and Hospital stated.

Train officials stated that a combination of a signaling error on the tracks before the New Jalpaiguri station and human error by the freight train driver is likely to have resulted in a fatal collision, despite Railway Board Chairperson Jaya Verma Sinha’s statement on Monday that the driver of the goods train had ignored the signal.

Delhi Government Petitions Supreme Court for Increased Water Supply from Neighboring States

The government of Delhi instructs the State Water Commission to obtain more raw water from the nearby states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh in light of the serious water shortage in the capital. The Delhi government, facing a serious water crisis in the nation’s capital, petitioned the Supreme Court on Friday to obtain more raw materials from nearby Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal asserted earlier in the day that the states bordering the capital had cut back on water supplies. The people of Delhi will be extremely grateful to the BJP for taking this move if it manages to secure some water for the city for a month by speaking with the governments of UP and Haryana. Nobody can control the intense heat like this. Can we, however, save the people from this if we band together? Kejriwal shared something on the social media site X.
