Maidaan Trailer: Ajay Devgn Portrays a Gritty Football Coach in Chak De! India-esque Drama
Maidaan trailer: Finally, Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated patriotic sports drama is almost ready for release. The film, which was directed by Amit R. Sharma, centers on a resolute football coach who is committed to guiding India’s underdog football team to the pinnacle of the sport.
What’s in the trailer?
The teaser for the movie is expanded upon in the trailer, which has Ajay Devgn’s character bemoaning the fact that, despite having a lot of potential, India is not represented on the global football map. He then decides to assemble a group of young guys from impoverished areas and teach them how to achieve success on a worldwide scale. There are parallels to sports movies like Gold and Chak De! India, in which Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, respectively, portrayed hockey trainers. After the trailer, in his team’s locker room, Ajay also gives a speech that lasts around 70 minutes.
About Maidaan
A trailer featuring kids playing street football has already been released by Ajay. When a tram approaches, the football finds its way into the hands of Ajay’s character, who cleverly returns it to the children. Maidaan, a film by Amit Ravindernath Sharma co-directed with Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor, pays tribute to the golden age of Indian football. Ajay plays the well-known Indian football pioneer, Syed Abdul Rahim, in the movie. Rahim is recognized for having founded the sport. Additionally appearing in the film are Bengali actors Rudranil Ghosh, Priyamani, and Gajraj Rao. The public responded well to the “Maidaan” teaser that the movie’s makers unveiled a year ago.

Sportsmen playing football in the rain were included in the teaser’s opening, action-packed scenes. They were playing the “greatest game” barefoot, which made them stand out. Then Ajay appeared, looking quite dapper in a gray coat and holding an umbrella over a match. Ajay’s powerful line, “Aaj Maidaan mein utarna gyarah lekin dikhna ek” (today when you come out on the field, you should be 11 in number but should look like one), finished the teaser. In 2020, the lockdown imposed to contain the emerging coronavirus outbreak forced producer Boney Kapoor to destroy the movie set. Cyclone Tauktae in May 2021 destroyed the Maidaan set. Additionally, Shaitaan, which hits theaters on March 8, stars Ajay and R. Madhavan together.
