Lucknow Ekana Stadium offers discounted IPL tickets to fill empty seats

Lucknow Supergiants have reduced IPL match tickets by up to 30%, with the lowest priced ticket now at INR 349. This decision was taken after a low turnout in the last match at Ekana Stadium. Even the costliest ticket, which was earlier priced at INR 16,000, has been brought down to INR 14,000. Reports suggest that about 30 seats in the audience gallery were left vacant. The team management was criticized for the low turnout since it was the first time that IPL was being held in Lucknow, and there was an expectation of high demand for tickets.

Other cities hosting IPL matches, such as Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bangalore, and Jaipur, are still witnessing full ticket sales. Lucknow Supergiants are scheduled to play seven matches at Ekana Stadium. The team’s first match was against Delhi, which they won, but the spectator count was very low. The team management has been blamed for the lack of communication with the fans, with only one public event in the past ten days. In contrast, cities like Ahmedabad and Chennai allowed free entry for spectators during match practice, leading to full ticket sales on match days. The Lucknow team management may have to rethink their promotional strategies to attract more fans to the stadium.

Ravindra Jadeja’s Hilarious MS Dhoni Joke: ‘I’m the Only Guy Lifted by Mahi Bhai after Sakshi Bhabhi

Ravindra Jadeja’s Hilarious MS Dhoni Joke: ‘I’m the Only Guy Lifted by Mahi Bhai after Sakshi Bhabhi

Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in a rain-soaked IPL 2023 final to win their record-tying fifth title. With the victory, CSK tied the record number of titles held by MI and solidified MS Dhoni’s status as one of the greatest leaders in cricket history.

GT reached 214/4 in 20 overs thanks to a 96-run innings off 47 balls by Sai Sudharsan, and even Wriddhiman Saha (54) scored a half-century. Although it appeared to be a formidable total, the weather gods had other ideas, and torrential rain fell during the first over of the chase. Then, because of the DLS technique, CSK had to reset their goal to 171 runs in 15 overs.

CSK needed 13 runs in the last over, with Ravindra Jadeja (4*) and Shivam Dube (30*) batting, with the team at 158/5 after 14 overs. The two took three singles in the first four deliveries, bringing the match to a close. Mohit Sharma threw a yorker that Jadeja smacked over long-on for a six, sending CSK supporters into a frenzy as they needed to defend 10 runs in two balls. Then, with the game-winning four in the last delivery, Mohit struck a low full toss on the pads that Jadeja deflected to the left of the short fine.

As soon as the all-rounder reached the boundary, he raced to captain MS Dhoni, who gave him credit for his game-winning effort—something we don’t often see from the former captain of India. At a recent CSK promotional event, Jadeja joked about Dhoni’s birthday. “I think I am the only guy who was lifted by Mahi bhai after Sakshi bhabhi,” said Jadeja, making everyone laugh.

Dhoni, meanwhile, was full of compliments for his teammate. “And in this case as well, you know, I was pretty confident that Jaddu has the skill and attitude to reach the goal,” he remarked. Once more, though, there’s no guarantee that this will occur. It was a truly remarkable half-hour. You are aware of the couple of sixes he smashed before the final ball. I believe they were challenging.”

“When I bat down the order, I realize how hard it is to get that sort of elevation and win it for six, even if it appears easy when watching on TV. Additionally, everyone is under pressure at the same moment. Both the opposition and ourselves are interested in winning. Everyone is working really hard. I’m very happy we came out on top. And there was a great deal of emotion. Thus, a hearty round of applause for Jaddu for his batting performance,” he continued.

On the eve of the CSK vs. RCB IPL 2024 opener, supporters were taken aback when Dhoni gave the captaincy to rookie Ruturaj Gaikwad. With two victories in two games, CSK has gotten off to a great start under Gaikwad’s direction and is currently leading the league.

Andre Russell Draws Inspiration from UFC Fighters for Fitness

With his all-around skills, Andre Russell has been a valuable member of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since the 2014 season. The 35-year-old has had a strong start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 after going through a rough patch the previous year.

At Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Saturday, March 23, KKR began their IPL 2024 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). While the hosts rallied from 119/6 in the 14th over to finish on 208/7, Dre Russ struck an explosive 25-ball 64 not out, hitting three fours and seven sixes. Russell claimed two wickets in two overs bowled during the second innings of play. Following the Knight Riders’ four-run victory, he was deservedly named Player of the Match.

According to Russell, he examined his old videos from the successful seasons and assessed his mental clarity before each delivery. Russell said that he was guilty of overanalyzing and putting too much pressure on himself when he was having trouble scoring runs.

Upon viewing those previous recordings, I became aware that I had a clear perspective and approach to each delivery. I let myself get under pressure [lately] because I was overthinking things. Occasionally, when we are having a rough time, we players wind up doing that. Thus, it’s all about mindset, and I now approach every delivery with greater clarity,” Russell was cited by ESPNcricinfo.

Russell stated that he is training for the 2024 T20 World Cup and the IPL by drawing inspiration from the UFC fighters.

“I’m working on the next two packs, as I currently have four.” Being lighter and leaner is helping my body, and it shows in how well I perform. I enjoy watching UFC matches. I set a goal for myself because I am motivated by those guys’ strong, slender bodies. I’m confident it will improve my bowling, fielding, and batting in cricket,” Russell said.

Along with mentioning the adjustments he has made to his batting style, the legendary Jamaican batsman also discussed how they have benefited him.

I’ve changed a few [technical] things. As Sunil [Narine] observed my technique while I was batting in the Abu Dhabi nets, he said something to me. And I became aware that I was [moving forward] too much.

“I’m finding that walking quickly now suits me. The majority of big-hitters, in my opinion, don’t have long strides. That’s what I’ve done, and I now have a little more time to play ball. That seems to be the only minor adjustment I have made. My goal is to relocate as late as feasible. I try to rely solely on my good hand speed and hand-eye coordination,” he continued.

When KKR plays Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday, March 29, Russell will be in action. Given his recent game-winning performance against the Sunrisers, the devastating batter has been playing some excellent knocks and is likely full of confidence.
