Joe Root and Jos Buttler’s banter on Yuzvendra Chahal sparks IPL fans’ interest

Rajasthan Royals (RR) teammates Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal were standout performers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. Buttler won the Orange Cap, awarded to the top run-scorer of the tournament, while Chahal claimed the Purple Cap, given to the leading wicket-taker. Having joined RR ahead of IPL 2023, Chahal quickly formed a close bond with Buttler. In a recent candid chat, Buttler and his England teammate Joe Root, who is also part of RR, discussed their personal lives and the IPL franchise.
In a video shared on IPL’s Twitter handle, Buttler revealed that Root worked at a circus in Sheffield as a child. Buttler also asked Root to name someone he would like to avoid in the franchise, to which Root jokingly replied with Chahal’s name, despite the spinner taking good care of him since he arrived at RR.
Root, however, admitted that despite having played against Chahal for many years, he never really got the chance to know him. Root then asked Buttler to choose his best friend between him and Chahal, to which Buttler gave a witty response, saying that when he’s in India, Chahal can take care of him, but when he’s outside of India, Root can be his best mate.
Root was bought by RR for Rs. 1 crore during the IPL 2023 mini-auction but has not yet found a place in the playing XI for the first two games against SunRisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings.

Ind vs Aus 3rd ODI : Australia win by 66 runs, IND clinch series 2-1

Australia defeated India by 66 runs in the third and final ODI on Wednesday in Rajkot, snapping a five-match losing streak. Mitch Marsh (96), David Warner (56), Steve Smith (74), and Marnus Labuschagne (72) all scored half-centuries for the Australian squad, showcasing their batting skills. Australia amassed a staggering score of 352 for seven thanks to their stellar effort, giving them more confidence going into the 2018 World Cup.
Washington Sundar (10-0-48-0) was India’s most outstanding bowler on a day marked by devastation. India had no choice but to take a risk when they batted. Sharma was in excellent form despite the absence of Shubman Gill, who had been playing well.
But the only batter to succeed in putting the Australians under pressure was the Indian captain. During his time in the middle, when he hammered 81 off just 57 balls, it appeared that the hosts may yet succeed in chasing down the target. After 21 overs, India was on 144 when he was dismissed, which caused a stir.
The other hitters gave it their best go, scoring 56 off 61, 48 off 43 for Shreyas Iyer, 30 off 30 for KL Rahul, and 35 off 36 for Ravindra Jadeja, but none of them were able to strike out at the necessary pace. There were more wickets as a result of the rising asking rate.
However, the top order was destroyed by Glenn Maxwell’s outstanding bowling performance of 4/40, leaving the weakened lower order fighting to maintain consistency in the chase.
