IPL Has Increased Competition Across All Three Formats: League Chairman Dhumal
According to league head Arun Dhumal, the Indian Premier League has not only been crucial in spotting talent over the years, but it has also increased competition in all three forms of the game. There has been a massive growth in both the IPL and T20 cricket since its inaugural season in 2008. After putting up outstanding performances in the lucrative competition, a number of players, including Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, have gone on to win the coveted India cap.
“In terms of finding fresh boys, the IPL has performed a fantastic job. Every season, as we have seen, extremely gifted young people like Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal enter the scene,” Dhumal said in an exclusive interview with PTI Video.
“They have then played for India also, so that way IPL has turned out to be a great tournament for the young talent and hopefully this season is going to be no different,” he stated. Behind the National Football League (NFL) in the USA, the IPL has grown to be the second-richest sports league in the world in terms of match value. Dhumal believes the league has also improved the Test and ODI formats.
