IPL 2024: Klaasen and Abhishek Shine in SRH Training Under New Coach Vettori

Only one week before the competition, SunRisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori arrived at the training camp. Two of the key players for the Hyderabad-based team, Travis Head and Pat Cummins, will be paired with Vettori, one of the assistant coaches on the Australian squad.

During his first workout with the SRH, Vettori was particularly impressed with two batters. Vettori praised the club’s middle order and mentioned that there was a lot of experience there in a video that the team posted. Abhishek Sharma of Punjab and Heinrich Klaasen of South Africa, who hammered some enormous sixes in the nets, wowed Vettori.

“Seeing the guys here was pleasant. I believe that experience makes a big impact, especially in the middle. Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen are equally amazing. I’ve seen Klaasen a lot throughout the years, but this was my first opportunity to see Abhishek up close. He was quite dominant, and I believe he struck a few of the day’s greatest sixes. I will be spending a lot of time getting to know a lot of players. After his first practice with SRH, Vettori remarked, “There is a lot of talent in the side.”

The Hyderabad-based team’s management has been replaced in front of the 2024 Indian Premier League. Pat Cummins, the Australian who won the ODI World Cup, will be the team’s captain. After the South African-led squad finished last in the IPL 2023, SRH took Aiden Markram’s place in the 2024 campaign.

In addition, the team fired Brian Lara as head coach and hired Vettori, who has extensive coaching and playing experience in the Indian Premier League.
