The three accused, Karan Brar, Karanpreet Singh, and Kamalpreet Singh, were briefly questioned by Judge Delaram Jahani. Brar and Karanpreet Singh decided to make another appearance on May 21 through their counsel. The Globe and Mail stated that Kamalpreet Singh has requested legal representation, but the court has not yet determined a new date for him. Following the Lok Sabha elections last month, JD (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday that 25,000 pen drives containing sexually explicit recordings were distributed around Karnataka. The drives are purportedly owned by his nephew, Prajwal Revanna. HD Kumaraswamy charged that DK Shivakumar, the leader of the Congress, was behind the “conspiracy” to release the films ahead of the election. In Karnataka’s Hassan, Prajwal Revanna is running as an MP and for the JD(s). They are under arrest for allegedly abusing their chef, along with his father, MLA H. D. Revanna. Additionally, a rape charge has been filed against the Hassan MP.

Revanna’s father was arrested earlier this month in connection with an abduction case, including claims of sexual abuse. The Karnataka government has formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate the claims of sexual assault made against Prajwal Revanna. HD Kumaraswamy stated that the SIT was actually the “Siddaramaiah Investigation Team” and the “Shivakumar Investigation Team,” implying that DK Shivakumar was involved.

The former chief minister of Karnataka asserted that the pen drives were initially distributed in Bengaluru Rural, which is DK Suresh’s area. D.K. Shivakumar is his brother. He said that while the polling agent for his party had complained to the returning officer, nothing had happened. At 8:00 p.m. on April 21, Pornachandra (the agent) got a message inviting her to “follow a WhatsApp channel to see Prajwal Revanna’s sleaze video.” A message reading, “Countdown for the release of Prajwal’s sleaze videos,” was posted on this WhatsApp channel, according to Kumaraswamy.
