Cyclone Biparjoy: IMD Issues Red Alert as Coastal Areas Brace for Major Damage.

Cyclone Biparjoy

In anticipation of a very severe cyclonic storm, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a storm surge warning for Gujarat’s coastal areas. Biparjoy claimed that the low-lying portions of the Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, and Morbi districts were likely to be flooded. Scientists cautioned that although Biparjoy’s intensity decreased to become a very severe cyclone, it might pick up speed again and produce tremendous storm surges that would cause havoc in Gujarat..

In addition, the Met department has issued a red alert for the Saurashtra and Kutch beaches as Cyclone Biparjoy gets ready to make landfall on June 15 between Mandvi, Gujarat, and Karachi, Pakistan’s harbour city. According to the IMD, the sea conditions around and off the coastlines of Saurashtra and Kutch are predicted to remain very turbulent till Wednesday evening and then high to spectacular until Thursday evening.

The weather monitoring organisation further stated that substantial damage to kutcha homes as well as the complete destruction of thatched homes is anticipated in the districts of Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Morbi, Junagarh, and Rajkot. In these regions, the extremely powerful cyclonic storm has the potential to uproot power and communication poles, interfere with railroads, and harm orchards, plantations, and standing crops.

Cyclone “Biparjoy” (pronounce “Biporjoy”) was centred over the Northeast Arabian Sea, around 340 kilometres south-southwest of Karachi, Pakistan, and 280 km southwest of Gujarat’s Jakhau Port, 290 km west-southwest of Devbhumi Dwarka, 300 km west-southwest of Naliya, and 350 km west of Porbandar. By the evening of June 15 the extremely severe cyclonic storm, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 125-135 kmph gusting to 150 kmph, is expected to move almost north-northeastwards and cross the Saurashtra and Kutch and adjacent Pakistan shores between Mandvi and Karachi near Jakhau Port.

Today’s rainfall is expected to be light to moderate in most coastal regions of Gujarat, with isolated pockets of heavy to extremely heavy quantities. On June 15, Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Jamnagar are anticipated to see heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, as well as a few isolated pockets of really high rainfall. On June 15, isolated regions in the districts of Saurashtra and north Gujarat are also likely to receive severe to very heavy rain. Additionally, some areas of the districts of Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi, and Junagarh are also likely to see heavy to very heavy rain.

Through June 15, approximately 95 trains that go by, originate from, or terminate in Gujarat’s coastal districts would still be cancelled or short-terminated, according to Western Railway.

Tourist Slapped and Pushed by Security Personnel for Filming Reel at Taj Mahal, Caught on Camera

A CISF officer and a tourist got into a violent argument in a recent video taken at the famous tourist destination Taj Mahal in Agra. The now-viral video on social media depicts how a verbal altercation between the two ends in a physical altercation. The visitor was purportedly trying to film a reel on the monument grounds, even though it is prohibited there. Ramesh Chand, a CISF officer on duty, got involved in the altercation because he prevented the tourist and his buddies from filming the event, according to an India Today article.

According to a police report, the incident happened on Saturday at around 2:00 pm when the guests attempted to film a video close to the “Mehmankhana,” in violation of the facility’s filming rule. The rules prevented the female tourist there with her pals from filming the video, but in spite of this warning, they persisted in filming. This resulted in the tourist’s cell phone being taken by CISF officers, which sparked a furious dispute.

In actuality, the footage shows the tourist assaulting the policeman, who pushes back, sending her to the ground. But the woman gets back up and tries to strike the CISF officers once more. The two girls who were with the woman after this altercation tried to break things up by asking to use the phone to call the police. Subsequently, one of them informed the CISF control room about the situation.

The officer reported that during the questioning, the tourists became violent and irrational when they were told not to record the footage. In order to determine what caused the altercation, the authorities are looking at both the viral video and local CCTV footage. The investigation into the matter is presently underway, and necessary action has been guaranteed in light of the probe’s results. Authorities have asked visitors visiting the Taj Mahal to strictly abide by the rules and regulations in place because the monument is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
