Ravindra Jadeja Iconic Caption with MS Dhoni: Ending Rift Rumors in CSK

The legendary scene starring him and captain MS Dhoni from the team’s championship-winning performance the past season was reviewed by Chennai Super Rulers all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja on Monday. CSK defeated the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 last week in Ahmedabad to capture the title for a record-tying fifth time. In addition to Dhoni’s gesture towards Jadeja, after he scored the title-winning boundary, that occasion went viral amid the past season since it dispelled all rumors of a break inside the CSK dressing room. Jadeja reposted the picture, posing for the camera, along with an extremely popular message.

The winning streak for CSK was tainted by rumors of a potential disagreement between Jadeja and Dhoni. Although there had been rumors about the all-rounder losing his captaincy and the former India captain taking back his position for some time, the 2023 season saw the rumors start when spectators saw the two having a heated discussion following a Delhi Capitals game. After that, Jadeja and his spouse posted cryptic messages on X, the former name of Twitter, until CSK reacted with a team photo in which the Indian player was conspicuously absent.

Dhoni and Jadeja were spotted hugging after the title win before the skipper lifted the latter, which cheered CSK fans after the IPL 2023 final. Jadeja reshared the picture before the commencement of CSK’s IPL 2024 campaign, with the remark, “Super special moment.” This exact moment went viral during the previous season. The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, with CSK taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore.

However, several injuries have damaged Chennai. Both fast bowler Matheesa Pathirana and opener Devon Conway will miss the first half of the season due to injuries. After getting injured during the home T20I series against Australia earlier this year, the New Zealand batsman had to have surgery on his thumb. Meanwhile, Pathirana, who turned out to be a revelation for CSK the previous year and became Dhoni’s go-to bowler in the final overs, sustained a hamstring injury during the recent white-ball series against Bangladesh. To make matters worse, during Monday’s third one-day international against Sri Lanka in Chattogram, Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, who was supposed to bat for Pathirana in case of injury, had to be carried off the field due to severe cramping.

Gautam Gambhir Disgruntled, Engages in Argument with Fourth Umpire After KKR Denied Single Against PBKS

Gautam Gambhir Disgruntled, Engages in Argument with Fourth Umpire After KKR Denied Single Against PBKS

On Friday, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had the opportunity to solidify their second place in the IPL 2024 points table after reclaiming it on Thursday following Sunrisers Hyderabad’s defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. It may also move them one step closer to entering the playoffs again. But the host squad was perplexed by the improbable Punjab Kings, who staged a robbery at Eden Gardens to set a T20 world record. Jonny Bairstow’s thunderous performance inspired PBKS to chase down 262 with eight wickets in hand and eight balls to spare. While KKR coach Gautam Gambhir stared on helplessly as the Punjab Kings sprayed sixes on a hot day in Kolkata, he was a little more animated during the first innings, when Sunil Narine (71 off 32 balls) and Phil Salt (75 off 37 balls) destroyed the PBKS bowling attack.

However, one event caused Gambhir to lose his calm during KKR’s batting stint. It occurred following the final ball of the 14th over. Rahul Chahar delivered a shorter pitch outside off as Andre Russell rocked back to cut it through cover, but Ashutosh Sharma made a superb catch inside the circle. He then immediately threw the ball toward wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, but the throw went wide, allowing Russell to steal a single off the miscue. However, on-field umpire Anil Chaudhary swiftly disallowed the single, claiming that he had already ruled it over when Ashutosh halted the ball.

While Russell had no reaction to KKR not being disallowed the single, Gambhir was furious as he approached the fourth umpire, who was standing beside the KKR dugout, and was seen having a heated conversation with him. It went on for quite sometime before Gambhir, still upset, walked back.

In retrospect, the single would have had little impact against PBKS, whose hitters were in blitzkrieg mode. In addition to Bairstow’s unbroken 108, pint-sized Prabhsimran Singh hit a brisk 54 off only 20 balls in the powerplay, before Rilee Rossouw made a useful cameo with a 16-ball 26. Shashank then hammered eight sixes, one fewer than Bairstow’s nine, and two boundaries to enable PBKS to achieve their first win in five games in the current IPL 2024.
