Massive Fire at 3 Hotels Near Patna Railway Station Leaves 3 Dead, Many Injured

Approximately 50 meters from the Patna intersection, a big fire incident on Thursday morning claimed three lives and left over a dozen injured, according to a fire brigade spokesman. The fire consumed three hotel structures. Authorities reported that they had found one dead in the Hotel Pal and two more, those of a mother and daughter, in the nearby Hotel Amrit. There could be more casualties, according to the fire department officer. A number of automobiles, including autorickshaws, two-wheelers, and four-wheelers, were completely destroyed by the fire, which swiftly spread because of the high winds.

According to firefighters, a number of people have been saved and are being treated at the Patna Medical College Hospital as additional rescue efforts are carried out. Out of the 17 fire victims who have been admitted to our hospital thus far with burn injuries, three have been brought in dead. Before confirming their deaths, we are doing an electrocardiogram (ECG) on two more very ill individuals. The remaining patients do not have significant burn injuries, in addition to the two serious cases mentioned before, according to Dr. IS Thakur, medical superintendent of the Patna Medical College Hospital.

According to firefighters, the brigade tenders arrived at the scene promptly, but because of the busy and consistently packed section, the dousing and rescue operation took longer than expected. Seven or eight tenders worked for more than two hours before the fire was finally brought under control, according to officials. Director general-cum-commandant, home guard, and fire services Shobha Ohotkar stated, “Over 45 people who were stranded on the rooftops were rescued by the fire brigade teams, while over a dozen were admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMcH) for treatment.”

The DG, who was overseeing the operation, stated that although traffic in the vicinity had posed problems, fire department personnel had done their utmost to minimize losses and injuries while rescuing the people. We have been conducting fire audits on a regular basis and advising hotel owners to keep up-to-date with functional fire safety precautions. The hoteliers ought to consider it carefully. Our first goal at this time is to save lives,” she continued.

The Amrit Hotel and other neighboring structures were quickly affected by the fire that began at the Pal Hotel. When the tragedy occurred, a Border Security Force constable who was eating at the Pal Hotel reported that the gas cylinders began to break following the fire. If the firefighters had been at the scene promptly, he claimed, the situation may have been under control. According to an eyewitness, confusion continued in the area until the fire tenders were able to begin their operations, which took forty minutes.

UP Topper Prachi Nigam’s Heartbreaking Message to Trolls: ‘Wish I Didn’t Top

Online mocking over her facial hair thrust Prachi Nigam, the UP Board Class 10 topper with an astounding 98.50 percent, into the unexpected limelight. Prachi grinned and said she was disappointed that her attractiveness had garnered more attention on social media than her exceptional academic ranking, in an interview. She said, looking back, “I wouldn’t have gained this social media popularity and wouldn’t have faced such trolling for my appearance if I had scored just 1-2 marks less.” The teenager, who was honest about the frequent physical abuse she receives due to her appearance, sighed, saying, “It hurts, but people on social media will say what they want, and there’s no stopping them.”

Since then, she has received a lot of support on social media from those who are unable to comprehend the impact of the careless trolls who never hesitated to make fun of her beauty. One person shared a clip of her interview with the BBC and bemoaned that “we failed as a society for her.” One commenter on the widely shared photo said, “The best moment in her life is now a painful memory.” Social media can be incredibly nasty and poisonous. “The people who trolled her are the real losers, more so than society,” said one additional remark. People in our culture are full of losers who are willing to yell at anyone who achieves success, especially if she is a woman.

Another remark expressed sympathy, saying, “What a sad situation. Consider the psychological suffering she would have experienced. Fortunately, a fourth remark highlighted her fortitude in the face of trolls, stating, “It takes some next-level courage to stand against this level of hate from the world.” She’s far too capable of this. Prachi also talked about her future goals, saying that she is committed to following her ambitions of becoming an engineer. “I encouraged my daughter to ignore the trolls, and to my surprise, many social media users supported her after a few days,” said Mamta Nigam, the mother of the victim, about how she helped her daughter once the trolling started.

Chandra Prakash Nigam, Prachi’s father, expressed his family’s delight in their daughter’s accomplishment while expressing sadness about the teasing. “People in society come in a variety of forms. Naturally, we were upset, but we are also happy for our daughter for receiving the best grades, he added. Mrs. Nigam said that she had intended to consult a doctor about her daughter’s care, but the trolling occurred before they could do so. “The government will now handle her treatment,” she continued.

Protesters Replace American Flag with Palestinian Flag at Harvard University: Caught on Camera

This week, student protestors at Harvard University caused a stir when they hoisted Palestinian flags atop the famous John Harvard monument, which bears the name of the esteemed US university. In light of Israel’s military assault in Gaza, the conduct was perceived as a provocative show of support for Palestine at the elite university.

The incident on Saturday started when a group of demonstrators raised their flags over the John Harvard monument, which is normally where the American flag or the flags of foreign dignitaries visiting the country are flown. Chants of “Free, free Palestine” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” resonated over the yard as the flags waved in the air, according to The Harvard Crimson.

The demonstrators are greatly concerned about the possibility of disciplinary action, which might involve the withholding of degrees, especially as Harvard’s graduation festivities approach. The campsite, which got underway earlier this week, has grown to be a main center of protest, with hundreds of students among those who could suffer consequences for carrying on with the demonstration.

‘WAVE OF DEMONSTRATIONS’

At Columbia University in New York, the protest wave started, but it has since quickly expanded across the nation. Many campuses have seen tranquility, but the number of demonstrators being held in detention is rapidly increasing. These are located at Washington University in St. Louis (80), Arizona State University (72), Indiana University (23), and Northeastern University (100) in Boston.

Following around 275 arrests by police at four different schools over the weekend, the US federal government stressed on Sunday that pro-Palestinian rallies, which have shook colleges, should be peaceful, even as demonstrations continued across college campuses.

According to National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, “We certainly respect the right to peaceful protests,” ABC was informed. However, he said, “We unequivocally condemn all hate speech, threats of violence, and the anti-Semitic language that we have recently heard.”
