Salman Khan House Firing: Mumbai Police Recover 2 Pistols and 13 Bullets from Gujarat’s Tapi River

Two handguns, thirteen rounds, and three magazines were found in the Tapi River in Gujarat on Tuesday by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. The two apprehended gunmen allegedly used the recovered firearms to fire outside the home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, according to the police. Twelve officers, among them senior police inspector Daya Nayak, an “encounter specialist,” led a team that started searching the Tapi River on Monday. Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the two gunmen, had admitted during questioning that they had thrown the weapon into the river from a railway bridge as they were running away to Bhuj following the shooting. The incident happened on April 14 in front of the 58-year-old actor’s Bandra, Mumbai, apartment at the Galaxy Apartment. The gunmen quickly rode off on a motorcycle, hiding their faces behind helmets.

‘Intended to scare, not murder’

Following the first interrogation, the accused allegedly did a “recce” of Salman Khan’s Panvel property, according to police officials. According to the authorities, their intention was “just to scare him and not murder him.” The pair’s primary goal in firing outside Khan’s home, according to the police, was to incite “terror.” They went on to say that the event was a “well-planned assault.”

Lawrence Bishnoi connection

The gunshot incident was attributed to a Facebook account belonging to Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of mobster Lawrence Bishnoi. The account was formed three hours prior to the shooting, according to the reports. Since the two Bishnoi brothers are said to have given orders to the two shooters, the police have listed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol as the sought-after accused in the case. Anmol is thought to have left the country.
