Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood joins RCB team in IPL 2023
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team has been struggling in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 due to the inconsistent performance of their middle-order batsmen and bowlers, apart from Mohammad Siraj. This has resulted in their loss in four out of the eight matches played so far.
However, there is good news for RCB as the Australian fast bowler, Josh Hazlewood, has joined the team after being ruled out of the opening matches due to injury. This news could be a turning point for the team as Hazlewood is a dangerous bowler who consistently bowls at a good pace and right line length.
Hazlewood inclusion in the team is relieving news for RCB as he has the ability to perform well if he bowls in his rhythm. In a match against West Indies in 2015, Hazlewood bowled at a speed of 164 KMPH, although it was later revealed that the speed shown on the speed meter was incorrect.
Hazlewood made his IPL debut in 2020 with the Chennai Super Kings, and after playing for two years, he was bought by RCB for Rs 7.75 crore. So far, he has played a total of 24 matches in the IPL and has taken 32 wickets at an average of 22.94, with an economy of 8.02. His best performance in the IPL is 4 wickets for 25 runs.
Hazlewood presence in the RCB team could be a game-changer for the team, especially considering their current struggles. While the team has suffered a setback due to their inconsistent performance, Hazlewood’s return could be the much-needed boost they need to improve their chances of winning the IPL 2023 championship.
