“Adipurush (Hindi) Advance Booking Creates Buzz at the Box Office: Prabhas Starrer Sells 18,000 Tickets with an Encouraging Start”

Only three days remain till the debut of Adipurush, one of the most eagerly anticipated films of 2023. Adipurush, a film by Om Raut with Bhushan Kumar serving as producer, is based on the Ramayana and stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan in the key roles. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the movie a U rating, approving a 2 hours, 59 minute (179 minute) runtime.
The makers of Adipurush, one of the most anticipated films in recent memory, are making every effort to guarantee a massive release for the movie on June 16. Adipurush is preparing for a release on about 4000 screens in Hindi and 6200+ screens nationwide, according to early patterns of screen reservations. It is a given that it will be the biggest release of the year on the screen front in 2D and 3D. Screen booking is still ongoing, and the final count will be known by Thursday midday.
Adipurush’s advance sales started on Saturday night, and as of Tuesday at midday, the epic has sold over 62,000 tickets in the three chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis) during the past two days. Adipurush had sold 1.13 lakh Hindi-version tickets in the three chains during the course of the weekend. These are positive figures for the movie, which will aim to close with advance sales of between 2 lakh and 50 thousand tickets in the three chains by Thursday night. With this, it would have one of the greatest advances for a Hindi film, and from there, it would depend on how well the movie did with spot bookings. The Hindi language has made the most progress in the post-pandemic era with Pathaan (5.56 lakh) and KGF 2 (5.15 lakh) being the top two.
RRR had sold 1.05 lakh tickets ahead of time in the three chains, while Brahmastra came in third with 3.02 lakh tickets. When it comes to advance booking, Adipurush is way ahead of RRR in the Hindi belts. If on-the-shelf sales continue at the same rate on the day of release, we may expect an opening in the range of Rs 25 to 30 crore in Hindi. Adipurush is off to a great start, especially considering it is a non-holiday, and what happens next will ultimately depend on the audience’s word of mouth.
When compared side by side, Brahmastra sold almost 1 lakh tickets in the three chains on Tuesday at noon, whereas Adipurush had 62,000 sold at the same time even though it does not have the south market covered for advance owing to release in local languages as well. Pathaan by Shah Rukh Khan was on a completely different level. Nevertheless, these are excellent numbers for Adipurush, exceeding all expectations in terms of advance sales. The key now is to build a strong word-of-mouth following for long-term survival. The onus is now on the content to fulfil the expectation since the initial appears to be there. Nothing in the world can be as ubiquitous a story as the Ramayana, so if a film succeeds on the content front, the sky is the limit. Except for the two biggies mentioned above, Adipurush has already outperformed the entire advance booking of several major Bollywood films, and its current goal is to crack the top 10 all-time flicks.
Due to the fact that the movie is based on the Ramayana, there are massive bookings being made for disadvantaged children, as well as for schools, universities, and the general public in metro areas and the countryside for educational purposes. One needs to wait and see how this will affect the opening day business. The current improvements are unbalanced in favour of the national chains because the majority of single screens want to open tomorrow and because the mass belts will dominate the first day’s business.

Ashoke Pandit Calls for CBI Investigation into Vishal’s Bribery Allegations at CBFC

Former CBFC member Ashoke Pandit urged a CBI investigation into the actor Vishal’s allegations that he paid a bribe of 6.5 lakh rupees for the certification of his new movie Mark Antony at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office in Mumbai. The director also asserted, in an interview with India Today, that those who took the money are not a part of the board or its office.
The charges made by Tamil actor Vishal are being investigated, according to a Friday announcement from the national Information and Broadcasting Ministry. According to Ashoke, the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association is writing Prasoon Joshi and requesting a CBI investigation into these allegations. Ashoke made this statement to the news website. Whoever the money was handed to has to be examined since the people who stole it are not CBFC employees.
The problem of corruption in CBFC brought up by actor @VishalKOfficial is exceedingly terrible, and the ministry has opened an investigation into it, according to a tweet on X (previously known as Twitter) from the official handle of the ministry. The government would take the harshest measures against anyone discovered to be involved in corruption.
The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has sent a top officer to Mumbai to start an investigation right now.
In a video he put online, Vishal accused CBFC employees at the Mumbai headquarters of accepting bribes. He said that in exchange for the screening and a U/A certificate for his movie, he was requested to pay 6.5 lakh. On September 28, his movie Mark Antony was released in Hindi. Vishal included information on the bank accounts where the bribe was split into two payments in his post.

The identities named by Vishal, according to Ashoke, are not CBFC officials, “It is not appropriate to accuse a CBFC officer at this time… However, given the seriousness of the charges, we demand a CBI investigation if any are being made. Any official who wants money will obviously not deposit it (directly) into his account. The two persons he mentioned at the CBFC ought to be questioned about whether they accepted the funds on someone else’s behalf. High-level investigation ought to be started, according to Ashoke Pandit.
