Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player for India, believes that the BCCI’s new Test incentive strategy would revive interest in the game’s longest format. He clarified that because franchise cricket frequently offers a better potential to earn more money, the kids were concentrating too much on it as a result of the IPL. But that is likely to change with the Test incentive program, where players can now make the same or often even more than they do from playing in the IPL.
Following the recent controversy involving Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, the BCCI instructed all cricket players to concentrate on playing domestic cricket and to avoid missing any games without notice. The purpose of the Test incentive scheme is to encourage red-ball cricket in India so that the next generation of young players would be equally interested in the longer format as opposed to merely white-ball. Money is a motivational factor, according to Chopra, and if the BCCI puts money into Test cricket, kids will be motivated to play.

“Having money is a driving force. The upcoming generation already begins to believe that they must play in the IPL because they get a lot of money there when the IPL money is talked about in public so much. On his YouTube channel, Chopra stated, “In Test cricket now, you will receive the same amount of money and maybe even more. It’s been advised today to not consider upon the Indian Premier League as your entire life. It’s a terrific competition, but the idea is that you won’t miss India’s Test matches and shouldn’t make it your top priority,” he continued.

No other board spends as much money on Test cricket as the BCCI does, according to Chopra, who thinks the organization made a great choice. He went on to say that he welcomes the decision and that it is historic for players to earn INR 60 lakh every match. No nation has ever offered as much money to play Test cricket as India has decided to give—60 lakh rupees each match, providing you play more than 75% of the matches for India in that season, he said.
