Climate Change or Artificial Rain to Blame for Dubai Floods? What is the UAE’s program for cloud seeding?

The forsaken city of Dubai was doused in 25 cm (10 inches) of rain in 24 hours. This is really the amount of rain that it regularly gets in about two weeks. According to the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology, notable precipitation has been seen for the last 75 years. Rains overflowed major thoroughfares and disturbed flights at Dubai Universal Air Terminal. Homes were overwhelmed and vehicles were surrendered on the roadways in Dubai as specialists sent tanker trucks to pump away the water.

Images posted on social media appear to lead to shopping centres. Dubai Shopping Center and the Shopping Center of the Emirates overflowed, with Dubai Metro Station in ankle-deep water. Lightning was seen every so often touching the tip of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. Experts say the water is related to a bigger storm framework navigating through the Middle Eastern Promontory and moving over the Inlet of Oman.

This is also bringing a curiously damp climate to neighbouring Oman and southern-eastern Iran. According to climate researcher Colin McCarthy, the overwhelming downpours are credited to numerous rounds of serious electrical storms shaping off the warm waters of the Persian Gulf. Others credit downpours to climate change. Climatologist Friederike Otto said it is profoundly likely that the “deadly and damaging rain in Oman and Dubai was made heavier by human-caused climate change,” as cited by the news office AFP.

Some meteorologists and climate masters point out that cloud seeding seems to have upgraded overwhelming downpours in the city. “Dubai is no stranger to tidying, but the storm had immersed a colossal sum of clean right over the region.

Clean is moreover a cloud seeder; we call it condensation cores, so how can one be certain man-made seeding was capable when a desert’s worth of clean was suspended overhead?” inquired Jeff Berardelli, chief meteorologist and climate pro (Tampa Narrows, US), on social media location X.“Future precipitation extremes are anticipated to increase with worldwide warming, according to hypotheses and climate models, but common (yearly) and uncommon (decennial or centennial) extremes may be influenced differently,” according to Nature journal. The UAE began cloud seeding operations in the 2000s to address water security issues, in spite of the fact that the need for waste in numerous ranges can trigger flooding.

The Inlet State’s National Center of Meteorology dispatched seeding planes from Al Ain air terminal on Monday and Tuesday to take advantage of convective cloud arrangements, according to Ahmed Habib, a pro-meteorologist. That procedure includes embedding chemicals and little particles—rregularly characteristic salts such as potassium chloride—iinto the environment to coax more rain from clouds. According to BNN Bloomberg, citing pro-meteorologist Ahmed Habib, the National Center of Meteorology dispatched seeding planes from Al Ain airplane terminal on Monday and Tuesday to tap into the convective cloud arrangements. This method includes embedding chemicals and small particles, frequently salt, such as potassium chloride, into the air to coax more rain from clouds.

The strategy of seeding includes creating more rain by propelling salt flares or other little materials into clouds. These flares, mounted on the aircraft’s wings, contain salt fabric components. Upon coming to the target clouds, the flares are conveyed, discharging the seeding specialist into the cloud. The salt particles serve as cores around which water beads condense, inevitably developing overwhelming enough to drop as precipitation in the frame of rain.

“The NCM has built up a national organization of 86 programmed climate stations (AWOS) for climate observation, six climate radars covering the whole UAE, and one upper discussion station. The Middle East has too made climate databases and helped in the advancement of high-accuracy numerical climate expectations and recreation computer programs in the UAE,” the UAEREP’s depiction of the handle reads. According to Serve of Climate Alter of Environment Mariam Al Mheiri, the nation’s rain improvement activity is fundamental to improving nourishment and water security, as well as recharging groundwater reserves and driving tourism.

Bomb Threat Targets 6 Ahmedabad Schools; Police Trace Email Domain Outside India

Today, threatening emails were sent to many schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, following considerable hysteria in the national capital region following a hoax bomb threat to schools in Delhi and its surrounding areas that caused widespread fear. Preliminary reports state that emails containing bomb threats were sent to at least six schools in one of Gujarat’s largest cities. The bomb disposal squad and the criminal branch teams have arrived at the schools to conduct investigations.

Lavina Sinha of the DCP Cybercrime Branch stated that the email domain is not located in India. “Emails threatening bomb blasts have been sent to many Ahmedabad schools. Six schools have so far received these emails and notified us of them. This appears to be similar to the bomb threats that Delhi’s schools got a few days ago,” the officer continued.

What happened in Delhi last week?

In their formal complaint, the Delhi Police stated that the threats were intended to cause widespread fear and disrupt public order in the nation’s capital, following the receipt of bogus emails from over 200 schools earlier this month. Under IPC sections 505 (2) (statements fostering or encouraging enmity, animosity, or ill-will between classes), 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication), and 120 (B) (penalty of criminal conspiracy), Delhi Police’s Special Cell has filed a formal complaint.

The Delhi Police deemed the threat to be fake after conducting a thorough search. Links to the phony emails have been discovered by the police abroad. To identify the precise source of the emails, the Delhi Police earlier this week contacted Mail.ru, a Russian mailing service provider, through Interpol.

RAIN LIKELY FROM MAY 7

Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center in Dehradun, suggested that rain may fall in the state between May 7 and May 8, with heavier precipitation starting on May 11. This may assist in putting out the forest fires, he said.
